Have visa, will travel

"Our happiest moments as tourists always seem to come when we stumble upon one thing while in pursuit of something else." — Lawrence Block

My adventure has begun! Well, sort of. Last week my mom and I travelled to San Francisco for my visa appointment at the French Consulate. Not only did this task bring me one step closer to my semester abroad, but it gave my mom and me the chance to fall in love with an amazing city inside the U.S.
San Francisco is an incredible city and a melting pot of different cultures. We stayed near Union Square, visited Chinatown, and hopped on a cable car for a ride to Fisherman’s Wharf. My visit to San Francisco was an eye-opening experience. For being such a large metropolis, it had an incredible amount of charm.
Sitting in the Consulate office, I was surrounded by other people also headed to France. Listening to their travel plans made me excited for mine. This mini-break was the perfect warm-up for what’s coming next…Paris!
